Australia Signs FinTech Deals With Luxembourg & The U.S.

  • The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) and the Luxembourg Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF) have signed a cooperation agreement for information sharing on financial technology (FinTech) and regulatory technology (RegTech)

 

  • ASIC Commissioner John Price said, ‘We see this agreement as very timely. Both our jurisdictions are leaders in funds management and other financial services. We look forward to sharing ASIC’s experience with our Innovation Hub and regulatory sandbox initiatives’

 

  • ASIC also signed an arrangement with the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), to cooperate on and support innovation through both countries FinTech initiatives, CFTC’s LabCFTC and ASIC’s Innovation Hub

 

  • ‘The signing of this arrangement with ASIC advances our mutual interest in facilitating technological innovation and development to enhance our respective markets,’ said CFTC Chairman J. Christopher Giancarlo.
