Dubai Future Blockchain Summit took place on 2 – 3 May 2018 at the Dubai World Trade Centre
Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence commented that, “Today, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and blockchain are two of the most powerful technologies that are revolutionising the pace of innovation in the UAE”
He also revealed that the government will save DH11 billion in economic returns and DH389 million in government documents alone
Zeina El Kaissi, head of Emerging Technology and Global Partnerships at Smart Dubai Office stated that blockchain technology will enhance and transform experiences
Microsoft unveiled a synced Blockchain approach together with IoT and RFID, aimed at creating greater transparency within the supply chain. Microsoft also showcased a new blockchain powered KYC (Know Your Customer) tool for the finance industry, enabling remote storage of customer identity data and replication across the chain, which removes the need for a central storage facility.
